Active Seniors, always learning something new. Currently exploring new adventures on the computer and our favorite TV channel is the Food Network.
We watch Paula Dean add a half cup butter to her recipes, but most seniors are concerned about cholesterol, Emeral adds a handful of salt to bring out the flavors and Giada smothers everything in cheese. However, many seniors must factor in high cholesterol, diabetes, or high blood pressure and need to adjust their recipes to accommodate their health needs. Cooking with my wonderful husband who has now reached the age of needing special Senior Serious meals-no salt, lower cholesterol, watch the sugar intake---challenging but fun. We want to share how we are adapting our favorite recipes to meet the needs of Senior. Also walking daily to keep in shape. Getting all our produce from Farmers Markets, picked fresh daily, tasty and much better flavor than anything sitting in a market warehouse for a week. Our theme is if you make it yourself you know what you're eating, if it comes in a package or box it is full of ingredients you really don't need, and absolutely never eat anything you got from a drive through.
